Technical examination and diagnostics of lifts

Technical inspection and diagnostics of a lift are carried out under the general rules that apply to the inspection of all types of equipment. In addition, the Rules for the operation and maintenance of lift facilities apply to this type of lifting equipment (approved by order of the Chairman of the Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan for Construction and Housing and Utilities No. 5 dated 10 January 2012).

During technical inspection and diagnostics, lift equipment undergoes:

1. visual and measurement inspection;
2. checking of the lift in all operating modes;
3. assessment of the condition of the lift equipment, including detection of defects, evaluation of the rope, faults, degree of wear and corrosion;
4. testing of safety devices;
5. inspection of metal structures using non-destructive testing methods;
6. testing of protective neutral earthing (grounding) and of the insulation resistance of electrical networks and equipment, and checking that protection operates in networks with a solidly earthed neutral.
