Metallographic and chemical analysis of metal structure
Metallographic analysis of metal
To study the macro- and microstructure of metals and alloys and its effect on mechanical properties, the accredited testing laboratory of KazExpertProm carries out metallographic analysis. Metallographic analysis involves a series of procedures and analytical activities that yield reliable data on the quantitative and qualitative composition of the item under study, as well as on its mechanical, physical, technological and performance properties. The object of metallography is the metallographic structure of the specimen, which becomes available for observation under a microscope after special sample preparation. Metallography makes it possible to detect internal defects such as microcracks and shrinkage porosity, to find inadmissible elements such as non-metallic inclusions and traces of heat treatment in the structure, and to determine the size, shape and relative position of the crystalline components of the metal structure. Data on all these factors help to build a complete picture of the quality of the materials analysed. The study is carried out with special equipment and according to specialised procedures.
Chemical analysis of metal
KazExpertProm LLP accepts orders for analysis of the chemical composition of various metals and alloys, including welds. The service covers identification and verification of compliance with GOST parameters, technical specifications or the product grade. We carry out classic chemical analysis of metals by the wet chemistry method, element by element — the most effective and accurate way to determine the chemical composition of products. Compared with other tests it offers high precision and makes it possible to determine the percentage of every element present in the sample.
A test report is issued on the results of the chemical analysis.
